The Z‑7 right‑angle clevis, also known as Z‑7 fork‑type clevis, acts as a standardized angular transition component widely installed between tower ironwork, insulators and various connecting hardware sets. Looking deep into its mechanical structure, the main body of Z‑7 right‑angle clevis is manufactured by hot forging carbon steel blank rather than thin steel sheet stamping. The forging process reshapes internal metal grain flow to follow actual stress paths, eliminating hidden defects such as internal crack or uneven wall thickness that frequently appear on low‑cost stamped alternatives. One end forms U‑shaped double‑fork slot for inserting matching tongue‑type hardware, and the other end is a solid straight connecting lug with through hole. Two sets of mounting holes are arranged at 90 degrees to realize right‑angle force redirection. All holes are precision machined with controlled tolerance. Proper clearance is reserved for pin‑bolt assembly, while excessive gap which brings unwanted swing and partial stress concentration is strictly avoided

 

As shown in real‑product photo, each complete Z‑7 clevis is supplied as a full matched assembly. The full kit includes forged clevis main body, high‑strength hex bolts, heavy‑duty lock nuts and spring‑steel split cotter pins. Fasteners are not optional spare parts. After bolt passes through fork slot and mating hardware hole, install nut and fasten to required torque value, then bend open split cotter pin at bolt tail. This dual securing solution combines friction locking from tightened nut and mechanical interlock of cotter pin. Even under long‑term aeolian vibration of overhead conductors and repeated stress caused by seasonal temperature shift, fasteners cannot back off freely. This design greatly reduces hidden danger of fitting separation on operating transmission lines

The entire unit including clevis body, bolts, nuts and cotter pins receives full hot‑dip galvanizing treatment. The zinc alloy coating tightly bonds to steel substrate, covering fork slot inner walls, hole surfaces and thread profiles completely.
