Voltage level
P-type is preferred for low voltage level, which can not only meet conventional needs, but also has low cost;

The size of the P Clevis is relatively small, and the overall structure is also very simple. It is usually a single-board structure, which is more suitable for some connection scenarios with relatively small loads and low space requirements. The P Clevis is suitable for power line connections with different levels such as 70kN, 100kN, 120kN, and 160kN, which can withstand relatively small tension, pressure and other loads, and is used in power lines with relatively low voltage levels. The suspension insulators are strung together and hung on the tower to realize the connection between the suspension wire clamps for linear towers and the wire clamps for non-linear towers and the insulator string. It is also suitable for some occasions with strict requirements on the size and weight of the connection parts.
If it does not meet the above points, then we have to consider other hanging boards, especially PD-type hanging boards, which have many similarities with P-type, so we can consider it. When choosing, we must put safe use first, and then consider cost-effectiveness, so as to ensure normal use.
Common models of P Clevis are P-0770, P-1080, P-1290, P-16100, P-21100, P-25120. No matter which model is used, long-term maintenance and care are required to extend the service life.
Periodic inspection: Check the integrity of the surface galvanized layer every quarter, focusing on checking for rust or mechanical damage. If local rust is found, it needs to be polished in time and then re-coated with epoxy zinc-rich primer;
Standardized cleaning: Use a soft cloth dipped in a neutral detergent to wipe the surface, avoid hard brushes causing wear of the coating, and clean it in a power-off state;
Component maintenance: Check the anti-drop slot of the stainless steel closed pin every quarter, and maintain the galvanized layer every two years;
Special scenarios: Immediately check the connection status of the insulator string after the thunderstorm season, measure whether the potential difference between the hanging plate and the hardware is abnormal, remove the ice load in winter, avoid overloading and plastic deformation of the hanging plate, and reinforce the P Clevis before the typhoon;
Standardized storage: Use PE diaphragms to separate the layers when stacking, and the stacking height should not exceed 1.5m to avoid scratches on the coating.
P Clevis and PD Clevis differ significantly in structure, and these differences in structure determine their performance:
P Clevis
Double-plate parallel brackets. Structurally, they consist of two parallel plates and are typically used for assembling slot insulators and extending the length of tension insulator strings.
PD Clevis
Single-plate brackets, consisting of a single plate, are used for assembly with wedge-type clamps. Wedge-type clamps can also be secured to pole tower collar flanges or assembled with double-plate parallel brackets to increase connection length.
