Ub Clevis is a commonly used connection hardware, used for rigid connection between insulator string and pole tower, cross arm or other hardware. It can be fixed at multiple angles by adjusting bolts, and is suitable for tension and overhang of overhead lines. During production, it is stamped from hot-dip galvanized steel plate, which has good installation flexibility. In order to make the hanging plate applicable to more fields, Ub Clevis can be made of low carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and forged cast iron. Different materials need to be matched with corresponding maintenance measures to achieve better use effect.
Common models of Ub Clevis include UB-7, UB-10, UB-12, UB-21, and UB-30. The differences in usage scenarios of different models mainly depend on factors such as nominal breaking load and size, as follows:
UB-7, UB-10
Suitable for power lines with lower voltage levels and smaller conductor loads, such as distribution network lines of 10kV and below, or in some pole tower connection parts with low load requirements, used to connect suspension insulator strings or tension insulator strings to pole tower crossarms;

UB-12
Used for lines with voltage levels of 35kV and below, and can withstand relatively large conductor tension and wind loads. It can also be used to connect insulator strings and structures in some small substations;

UB-21
Suitable for transmission lines of 110kV and below, can meet the connection requirements of larger spans and larger cross-section conductors, and can withstand higher mechanical loads, including the deadweight of the conductors, ice loads and larger wind loads;

UB-30
Mainly used for high-voltage transmission lines of 220kV and above, which have large conductor tension and high requirements for the bearing capacity of the hanging plate. It is also commonly used in transmission lines in special areas such as large spans and heavy ice areas. It can reliably connect insulator strings and tower crossarms to ensure safe and stable operation of the line.

If UB Clevis are used under special circumstances, they must be carefully maintained. In extreme weather conditions such as strong winds, heavy rain, ice and snow, a comprehensive inspection should be conducted to check for deformation or displacement caused by external forces, loose connections, and signs of impact from foreign objects. Any problems should be promptly replaced. After line modifications, maintenance, or other related operations, UB Clevis should also be inspected to ensure they have not been damaged during operation. If necessary, they should be re-strengthened and adjusted.
