The Ub-10 Clevis is a type of electrical hardware connection. Corrosion resistance
The thickness of the zinc coating determines the bracket's service life. Therefore, before use, check that the zinc coating is ≥60μm thick. Insufficient thickness will increase the corrosion rate.
Stability
Failure to use anti-loosening washers or insufficient torque during installation will shorten the bracket's service life.
Insulation design
The mechanical margin of the insulator string must be ≥2.5 times the working load. Otherwise, long-term overload will accelerate bracket fatigue.
Ub-10 Clevis can be manufactured using either hot-dip galvanized steel or cast iron. These materials differ in performance:
Hot-dip galvanized steel
Based on Q235B carbon steel, the surface is hot-dip galvanized for enhanced corrosion resistance, making it suitable for conventional power transmission environments. For highly corrosive environments, zinc-aluminum alloy-coated steel can be used, offering a 60% improvement in salt spray corrosion resistance.
Cast iron
Its primary advantage lies in its lower cost, lower tensile strength than steel, and limited use in certain environments, particularly heavy loads and highly corrosive environments.
Ub-10 Clevis made from hot-dip galvanized steel have a service life of 20-25 years, which is longer than that of cast iron. Therefore, we recommend choosing hot-dip galvanized steel when purchasing.
