Correct Installation Often Achieves Better Results, So How To Install Z Clevis?

 

Preparation

Confirm that the model of the hanging plate is consistent with the design drawing, check whether the surface galvanized layer is intact and free of rust, match the special connectors, including bolt specifications, etc., prepare torque wrench, level, electric drill;

Positioning

Use laser level to calibrate the installation reference line, control the verticality error within ±2mm, and the lateral spacing is in accordance with the design requirements. The fire bending angle of the hanging plate needs to be checked at complex structures;

Bolt Connection

The pre-drilled hole diameter is 1-2mm larger than the bolt to prevent thermal expansion and contraction deformation;

Multi-directional Adjustment

Use the dual-axis characteristics of the Z Clevis to adjust the angle to ensure that it matches the tension direction of the insulator string and the conductor. When overlapping, control the overlap length ≥40mm, and use double bolts for cross fixing;

Dynamic Detection

Manual swing test after installation to ensure that the rotating shaft is flexible and has no abnormal friction. Install a grading ring when installing the composite insulator, and test the discharge spacing ≥150mm.

Z Clevis also known as right-angle Clevis, is mainly used for the combined connection of insulator strings and wire clamps in power lines. It realizes the stable connection of suspended strings or tension strings through bolt assembly. The dual-axis rotation characteristics adapt to the multi-angle force requirements and effectively alleviate the impact of conductor tension on the connection structure. Z Clevis are forged with Q235 hot-dip galvanized steel during production, and the zinc layer thickness is ≥60μm, which meets the outdoor corrosion resistance requirements. During use, the processing dimensions are precise, can withstand mechanical loads higher than the rated value, are easy to install, simple to maintain, and have a beautiful appearance.

 

Common models of Z Clevis are Z-0780, Z-1080, Z-12100, Z-16100, Z-21100, and Z-16100, which play an important role in overhead lines. They are widely used in overhead power lines and substations, and different models are used in different scenarios. Different application scenarios of Z Clevis have different maintenance methods. If they are used in coastal high-humidity areas, the zinc layer thickness should be tested, rubber sealing rings should be installed, and they should be inspected every 3 months; if they are used in industrial pollution areas, the surface should be sprayed with anti-acid rain coating, and it should be applied once every six months; if they are used in low-temperature frozen soil areas, the bolts should be replaced with low-temperature alloy materials, and special maintenance should be carried out before winter. Correct use and reasonable maintenance can not only give full play to the characteristics of the product, but also extend its service life.
