Carbon structural steel with a tensile strength of 375-500 MPa and a yield strength of ≥235 MPa, exhibiting excellent plasticity and workability. Imperfections in purity can accelerate cracking and premature fracture during use.
The PD-1080 Clevis is primarily used in power systems. Over long-term use, the bracket's material and performance will impact the reliability of the power system. Below are some specific details:
Material: Carbon structural steel with a tensile strength of 375-500 MPa and a yield strength of ≥235 MPa, exhibiting excellent plasticity and workability. Imperfections in purity can accelerate cracking and premature fracture during use.
Performance: This performance is primarily reflected in its toughness and fatigue resistance. However, due to long-term alternating loads, insufficient toughness can lead to fracture in low-temperature environments.
Selecting the appropriate material and production process for the PD-1080 Clevis can significantly reduce the risk of fracture, corrosion, and deformation, ensuring stable operation within the power system.
Material determines performance. So, besides material, what other factors determine the performance of the PD-1080 Clevis?
Forming Process
Conventional flame cutting causes overheating and hardening of the edges of the connection holes, potentially leading to microcracks. This presents a safety hazard during use.
Connection Hole Treatment
Failure to chamfer the right-angle edges and the inside of the connection holes creates stress concentration points, which can easily lead to fatigue cracks under alternating loads.
Chromate Passivation
Without passivation treatment, loose white rust is likely to form on the zinc surface, accelerating zinc wear.
The PD-1080 Clevis installation adheres to the four principles of "precise positioning, balanced load distribution, standardized connections, and anti-loosening and anti-corrosion." The specific procedures are as follows:
Compatibility Verification
A suitable bracket is the best. Regardless of bracket model, size, specifications, or matching hardware, ensure dimensional matching. Check the surface integrity and ensure the bracket is free of deformation and cracks. Have the corresponding torque wrench ready.
01
Positioning and Alignment
When installing the PD-1080 Clevis, ensure the longitudinal axis aligns with the direction of load, and the contact surface between the bracket and adjacent hardware is flush.
02
Connection and Tightening
Use 10.9-grade high-strength bolts instead of standard bolts. Bolt heads should face the opposite direction of load. Bolts should be inserted from the inside of the bracket outward, leaving 2-3 threads of the threaded end protruding from the nut.
03
Performance Testing
After installation, perform a performance test. Only use the bracket after no noticeable movement or abnormal noise.
04
The long-term performance of the PD-1080 Clevis depends on a variety of factors. Structural accuracy and installation alignment determine the rationality of force, surface treatment quality determines corrosion resistance, and environment and maintenance influence the rate of performance degradation. To maximize the advantages of the PD-1080 Clevis, we strive for excellence in every step, from procurement to use and maintenance.
