Details
When we're not very familiar with a product, we can find it in everyday life. For example, we see iron towers with high-voltage power lines, usually two side-by-side. Since the power lines can't be directly tied to the tower, we need an insulator. This is where the Suspension Yoke Plate comes in. It holds the two high-voltage power lines together, fixing the spacing, and evenly distributes the force between the two points, distributing the weight of the power lines and the wind's pull, ensuring the power lines don't sway or shift.

Suspension Yoke Plate

Besides understanding the uses of the Suspension Yoke Plate, some users have raised another question: is it okay if we don't use the yoke plate? As users who have used it know, there are many problems if we don't use it. If the spacing between the two wires is not fixed, the two wires will get tangled together when the wind blows, which can easily cause a short circuit. If all the tension is concentrated on one point, the parts will be deformed or even broken, and there is also a risk that the wires will come loose. Choosing a high-quality yoke plate product, which is galvanized to prevent rust and has precise hole positions, can be used for 20 to 30 years after installation, saving you time and effort and ensuring safety.

Where are suspension yoke plates typically used? They're used on high-voltage transmission towers, commonly 110kV and 220kV, specifically for suspending power lines on straight-line towers. They're also essential for many conventional power lines. Essentially, a yoke plate is a rust-proof adapter; one end hangs on the tower, and the other two branches off to the power lines. It can be used outdoors for decades and is an indispensable component.

Suspension yoke plates are heavy-duty metal fittings with a galvanized surface. Therefore, when transporting them overseas, it is crucial to protect the zinc layer, prevent deformation, and protect against corrosion to ensure safe and rapid delivery to the user.

For small batches of yoke plates, pallets, stretch film, and rust-proof paper are used for packaging. Larger batches use wooden crates, inner padding, and waterproof membranes to provide impact resistance and all-around protection. To achieve a high-quality appearance, inner bags, desiccants, cushioning pads, and sealed wooden crates are used to control humidity and prevent white rust and scratches.

Internal protection is critical. To prevent moisture and rust, the entire plate is wrapped in a PE waterproof membrane and vapor phase rust inhibitor paper. Calcium chloride desiccant is placed at the four corners and in the gaps. The plates are bundled with steel straps to prevent rolling or bending.

Suspension yoke plates are typically transported by sea. When stacking, heavy items should be placed at the bottom and lighter items at the top, and larger items at the bottom and smaller items at the top, ensuring a balanced load to prevent a shift in the center of gravity. Overloading should be avoided during transport.

When the Suspension Yoke Plate arrives at the user's location, do not install it immediately. A thorough inspection must be performed first. Below is a detailed description of the entire installation process:

Preparation

Confirm the yoke plate model, hole spacing, hole diameter, and load. Check the appearance for completeness. There must be no problems such as incomplete plating, peeling, cracks, or deformation. If any of these problems occur, contact the manufacturer for replacement. Check that all parts are complete. Preparation is crucial and cannot be taken lightly.

Installation

Connect the upper hole of the Suspension Yoke Plate to the lower end of the insulator string, and connect the lower hole of the yoke plate to the suspension clamp and the split conductor spacing to ensure uniform conductor spacing and symmetrical force. Tighten the bolts and fully open the cotter pins to prevent them from falling off during operation. After installation, inspect the whole system.

Operation

During operation, it is strictly forbidden to overload the machine. It can be used outdoors, in industrial areas, coastal areas, and heavy icing areas. During use, on-site cutting, welding, and re-drilling are not allowed, as these operations will damage the strength and zinc layer. For long-term use, regular inspections should be carried out to prevent loosening and corrosion.
