Mechanical performance testing of Strain Yoke Plates is crucial, as passing mechanical performance tests is key to ensuring their ability to withstand transmission line tensions and resist extreme loads. Based on global standards, we test them for tensile strength, breaking load, yield strength, and fracture characteristics, primarily including the following:

Rated breaking load: The load-bearing capacity of Strain Yoke Plates under ultimate tension can be ensured to be no less than the design rating, which can prevent breakage during operation. Internationally, the measured breaking load value is ≥ 90% of the rated value, but the breakage location must not be in critical stress parts such as connection holes and welds. Assemble according to the actual stress to avoid additional bending moment. Use a tensile testing machine to apply uniform load and continue loading until the product breaks. Record the maximum load value to determine whether it meets the standard;

Tensile strength: The strength of the material itself is very important. If the material strength is insufficient, it may lead to deformation or failure under long-term stress. The yield strength of hot-dip galvanized steel is ≥235MPa and the tensile strength is ≥370MPa. Standard tensile specimens are cut from the yoke plate, and the tensile tester is loaded until the specimen yields and breaks. The yield load and the maximum tensile load are recorded, and the corresponding strength is calculated;

Elongation at break: This test measures the plasticity of the product to prevent brittle fracture. For steel yokes, the elongation at break δ5 should be ≥15%. The elongation is calculated by comparing the original length of the gauge length of the specimen with the length after fracture.
