The most common way to classify yoke plates is by their load-bearing function and structural shape. Different types are suitable for different positions, tensions, and environmental requirements in transmission lines. The main types include:
Tension Yoke Plates: Suitable for the high-tension load-bearing core of high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage transmission lines, bearing the concentrated transmission and dispersion of conductor tension. This is the most commonly used type of yoke plate. It has high tensile strength, a stable load-bearing structure, a relatively thick and heavy plate body, and is integrally formed by cold working without welding to avoid stress concentration.
Adjustable Yoke Plates: Solve the problem of hardware misalignment caused by temperature differences, wind sway, and conductor sag changes in transmission lines. They use elongated oval slots instead of traditional round holes, with an adjustment stroke of 2-5cm. Some are equipped with adjusting bolts. They have medium to high tensile strength and a slotted or double-layered structure, suitable for ultra-high-voltage four-split and six-split conductor connections.
Branch Yoke Plate: Multi-directional tension, multi-branch line centralized connection, realizes the hinge of multiple insulator strings and conductor branches, multi-directional hole layout, thickened center of plate body, tensile strength designed as needed, mainly used in transmission line branch towers, hub stations, and multi-circuit lines on the same tower, and foreign trade is mostly customized small batch orders.

The shape determines the stress logic and compatible fitting types of the yoke plate, serving as a direct basis for overseas users to view samples and select models. Different shapes are also a primary basis for classification:
Triangle Yoke Plate: Includes isosceles and equilateral triangle structures, with 3 holes distributed at the vertices, forming a stable triangular stress structure. Tension is evenly distributed with no stress concentration points, suitable for most tension applications. A core model for export orders, standard models cover tensile strength requirements of 40-80kN.
Flat Yoke Plate: Primarily rectangular in structure, with 2-4 holes evenly distributed in a straight line. The simplest structure and lowest processing cost, suitable for suspended applications and light tension sections. A good choice for first-time users due to its high cost-effectiveness.
Slot Yoke Plate: Single-row long slot design, allowing for slight hole movement. Thick and heavy plate with high tensile strength. Primarily used in adjustable tension applications and ultra-high voltage multi-split conductors. A mainstream type for high-end customized export models.
Four-way Yoke Plate: Commonly a cross-shaped structure, 4-6... The holes are evenly distributed in four directions, with a thickened center to prevent deformation. It is suitable for branch lines and branch towers, and is relatively niche. Special-shaped Yoke Plate: Includes trapezoidal and L-shaped structures. It can be specially designed according to user-provided drawings and is suitable for non-standard fittings such as UHV angle turns and island power transmission. It is a customized product.
