PH extension ring adopts a closed ring structure at both ends, which is specially used to extend or adjust the connection length of hardware such as insulator strings and wire clamps. The extension ring is forged with round steel and is used to connect ring hardware. During use, the PH extension ring has high mechanical strength and can withstand a certain amount of tension and impact force, ensuring that the connection parts will not be deformed or broken due to force during the operation of the power line; the connection angle and length can be flexibly adjusted to a certain extent to adapt to different installation positions and space requirements, which is convenient for connection and installation in various complex power line structures, and improves the convenience and efficiency of construction.

 

The production process of PH extension ring needs to take into account the requirements of mechanical strength, dimensional accuracy, surface quality, etc. We will explain them in detail:

Material preparation

The main materials are carbon steel and alloy steel to ensure mechanical strength and corrosion resistance;

Material pretreatment

Clean the surface of the round steel and cut the round steel into fixed length billets according to the product size to ensure that the length tolerance meets the requirements;

Hot forging

Put the billet into the heating furnace and heat it to 1000-1200℃ to soften the steel for easy shaping. Use the mold for forging. After multiple hammering or extrusion, it is gradually formed into a ring body and an arc-shaped connection structure is formed at both ends;

Cold forging

For smaller extension rings, the cold forging process can be directly used to shape the blank through die extrusion without heating. The advantages are high surface accuracy and high processing efficiency, which reduces the amount of subsequent machining.

Heat treatment

After annealing, quenching + tempering are performed, and hardness and mechanical properties tests are performed on the PH extension ring to ensure that it meets the requirements.

Surface treatment

Immerse in zinc liquid at 450-480℃ for 3-5 minutes to form a zinc-iron alloy layer and a pure zinc layer.

 

Extension rings come in many sizes and models, each with its own unique performance characteristics. Below, we'll introduce each:

PH extension ring

Its primary features are parallel connections and stable load-bearing properties. It's used for extending straight sections and for general connections with low to medium loads.

P-type extension ring

Suitable for small angles and flexible installation, it facilitates corner connections and equipment transitions.

PT-type extension ring

Its adjustable length offers high tolerance, making it suitable for dynamic load zones and compensating for dimensional deviations during construction.

Common models of PH extension rings are PH-7, PH-10, PH-12, PH-16, and PH-25. When selecting, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the voltage level, mechanical load, connection requirements, environmental conditions and other factors of the power system to ensure that it matches the matching hardware and meets the requirements for safe operation.

Applicable to low voltage lines 10kV-35kV, rated breaking load 70KN, suitable for Φ16mm ball head;

Connection of equipment in distribution lines or substations, applicable voltage level 35kV-110kV, more focused on installation convenience;

Applicable to overhead transmission lines, applicable voltage level 220kV-500kV, long-term tension and severe weather;

PH-25

Tension poles, towers or corner towers, applicable voltage level 500kV and above, with greater horizontal tension.
